Your payments won't start until one month after your solar panels have been installed and your loan has been activated.

If your loan is with egg, simply head over to My Account and login using the details youset up when you first purchased with us. If it shows that your agreement is still 'pending', your repayment plan hasn't been activated yet. Repayments will start once your solar system or charger has been installed, and we've confirmed everything is working as expected. If your loan is with another lender, you will be able to find out further information by contacting your lender directly.
If you took out financing for your solar solution, then the equipment belongs to you. You can sell your home, but you would still need to pay for the loan balance as you cannot novate the Loan Agreement to the new homeowner. You can include the remaining value of your equipment into the property sale price and make a full early repayment either before the sale or using the proceeds from the sale.Financing may not be suitable for you if you are planning to move home any time soon, so please consider this prior tobuying.
Absolutely. If your loan is with egg, you can access your outstanding balance and repay your finance plan early by dropping us an email onhello@crackingenergy.com or calling us on 0113 815 5355 between 9am and 5pm. If your loan is with an external lender, you can contact them directly for this information on 0800 328 0387. It would be helpful to have your documentation pack handy, and there might be an early settlement figure to be paid.
You are able to make additional payments as part of our loan. In doing so, you can reduce the interest on your loan, meaning you can repay your loan faster. Please contact the lender which your loan is with for further information on how to do this and what the benefits are in doing so.
No problem! When signing up, you will be given the choice to pay for your solar panels upfront. The same goes for our Electric Vehicle Chargers too.
If your loan is directly with egg: For Solar: you have the legal right to withdraw from the loan agreement, you also have a legal right to change your mind about the purchase of the Solar equipment within 14 calendar days, beginning with the day after egg delivers the equipment to you. If you change your mind after installation, you will have to pay i) the cost egg have incurred when providing the installation services up until the time you tell us you want to cancel, ii) uninstallation of the equipment and iii) any reduction in value of the equipment once it has been uninstalled. For EVC: you have the legal right to withdraw from the loan agreement, you also have a legal right to change your mind about the purchase of the EVC equipment within 14 calendar days, beginning with the day after the day egg delivers the equipment to you. If you change your mind after installation, you will have to pay i) the cost egg have incurred when providing the installation services up until the time you tell us you want to cancel, ii) uninstallation of the equipment and iii) any reduction in value of the equipment once it has been uninstalled. This means you will owe egg an amount equal to 100% of the purchase price of the Electric VehicleCharger. This means that if you are paying for your Electric Vehicle Charger byway of a loan then we will make a claim against you for 100% of the loan value minus any loan repayments that you have already made to us.You will not be charged anything if egg have not delivered/installed any Solar and/or EVC equipment to you. Please ensure you read all legal documents carefully. If your loan is with a lender via our broking partner Shermin, contact them directly on0800 328 0387 to see your options.
Please see below some details about this process. 14-Day Cooling-Off: Customers have 14 days from the date they execute (sign) the loan agreement to cancel. During this period, please contact us (egg)and we can inform our broker/lender of your intent to cancel. You can also contact our broker/your lender directly. Post-14 Days / Pre-Payout: Customers who wish to cancel after the 14-day cooling-off period but before the loan is paid out, please contact us (egg) and we can formally request cancellation. Please note, this type of cancellation is not automatic and is assessed with correspondence with our broker/your lender. You can also contact our broker/your lender directly.
As you own the egg equipment installed at your property, you will continue to be responsible for all payments. The responsibility to make payments does not transfer to the person buying your property. If you choose to, you can include the remaining value of your equipment into the property sale price, and make a full early repayment either before the sale or using the proceeds from the sale.
If you sell the equipment as part of the home sale process, the incoming homebuyer would have no further obligations to egg. They would own the system outright and immediately start benefiting from energy bill savings! Eggciting! Alternatively, as you own the equipment, you are free to take your equipment with you to your new home and continue to make payments. That said, the expense of uninstalling, moving and then reinstalling the equipment means it may not be worth it.
Financing may not be suitable for you if you are planning to move home any time soon, so please consider this prior to buying.
If an egg customer passes away, all of their assets, possessions, property and money will form part of their estate. Debts also become part of their estate. A debt which the deceased owed to egg is payable from their estate. As the customer owns their egg equipment, the equipment will therefore belong to the deceased estate and house value. The loan will technically be unaffected and all payments will still be payable on the same basis as before the customer's death. We know this is a tough time, so please get in touch with us and we can see what can be done to help. If your loan is with another lender, you should contact them directly on 0800 328 0387 for further information.
We always aim to provide our customers with the best possible service but sometimes things can go wrong. If your complaint is about your solar solution, please contact egg directly. You can find out more about our complaints handling process by heading to our legal page and viewing our Complaints Code of Practice. If your complaint is specifically regarding your finance agreement, please liaise with your lender directly.
Yes. Assuming their vehicle or charging cable is the same type as your charger, they will be able to charge exactly the same as you can. You will normally have to press the boost button to start charging unless the schedule is set to charge at a suitable time.
Our chargers are rated at 7.4kW, which is typically the fastest charging speed that you can get at home, without spending a lot of money on electrical upgrades to your property. If you have a 42kWh battery, this will charge in just under 6 hours when using a 7kW charger.
Yes, our chargers can be locked from within the app. This will prevent anyone from plugging in and dispensing charge, until you change the setting on the app. This is ideal for when you're on holiday, rather than having to physically turn the charger off!
Before contacting us with any issues, to try and resolve the problem as quickly as possible, we would recommend power cycling the charger. To do this, follow your charger back to your isolator switch, this will normally be in your meter box. Flick this down and then back up again after 20 seconds to reboot your charger. Please only do this when your car is not plugged in or charging. If this doesn't help and you need to speak to us, please email us onsupport@crackingenergy.com, or give us a call on 0113 815 5366.
Did you know that selling a property with an EV charger already installed increases the sale value? If you chose to pay for your charger with our easy monthly payment option, you can continue to pay off your charger monthly and sign up to a new one with monthly payments at your new property.
Due to the costs involved with an Electrician removing the charger from your old property, carrying out any potential upgrade works at the new property and the costs of installation, it often works out to be more expensive than leaving the charger in-place and having a new one installed at your new property. If you wish to find a local electrician to complete this work for you, they may be able to do this for you, however yourEgg Plus cover would not include any installation issues or faults caused by the subsequent installation.

Absolutely! If you wish to pay off your loan early, or make any additional payments to reduce the term of your loan, give us a call on 0113 815 5366 or email home@crackingenergy.com to discuss your options. There are no additional costs or charges for early repayment of the loan.
Charging sessions will only show on your app for histroical charges and once charging has stopped and the car has been unplugged. Once the car is unplugged, the charger identifies this as a completed charging session, which will then update shortly afterwards within the app. If you have done this on multiple occasions and the charging sessions aren't showing, please contact us and we will investigate this foryou.
Once you have created an account and linked a vehicle, if there are multiple users at your property requiring access, all you need to do is download the app on the new device and sign in using the same details. Only one vehicle can currently be stored on the app. If you have multiple vehicles that use the charger, we recommend setting the vehicle as the one with the larger battery capacity.
