With an Egg Loan there isn't a fee for making overpayments and they are a great way of reducing down the amount of interest you could pay on your loan. You can make overpayments from as little as £1, right up to the balance of your loan.

At the moment, we're unable to accept payments made by debit card but you can ask your external bank to make the following types of payment:

1. BACS payment (electronic transfer)

To make a BACS payment to your Egg Loan, ask your external bank to transfer money by BACS to:
  • Sort code: 40-61-99
  • Account number: Your Egg Loan account number
  • Please quote your name as a reference.
This payment takes up to four working days to clear into your account.

Your bank may have the facilities to make Faster Payments. If they do and the payment is received by us before noon on a working day, it will be applied to the account the same day. If the payment is received after noon or on a weekend or Bank Holiday, it will be applied to your account the next working day. The details you'll need to provide to your bank to make a Faster Payment are the same as those used for BACS payments.

2. CHAPS (same day transfer)

Chaps payments are processed to your loan account on the same working day if they are sent before 2pm. Your bank will be able to make the transfer for you if you provide them with the following details:
  • Sort code: 40-02-50
  • Account number: 11049151
  • Please quote your Egg Loan account number as a reference.

3. Cheque

You should make your cheque payable to 'Egg, (Account holder name (s)), (Account number)'. Eg: Egg, Mr Smith, 12345678 (draw a line through any unused space on the payee line so that no-one can add extra numbers or words).
Your cheque is likely to be returned if it is made payable simply to 'Egg'.

Send your cheque to:
Loans Transactions
Egg
Unsecured Lending
Riverside Road
Pride Park
Derby
DE99 3GG

When you make a cheque payment, it will be applied to your account when the cheque clears. As we are not a clearing bank, cheques can take 8 to 10 working days to clear rather than the 3 working day central clearing cycle applicable to most clearing banks.
