Once you've successfully applied for your card and accepted your agreement online you must wait for your card to arrive.
Once you receive your card, you just need to activate it by logging in to 'your accounts' where we automatically take you through a simple activation process.
Only when you've activated your card can you arrange balance transfers, get cash advances and make purchases.

There are two ways you can change your Direct Debit amount online. First log in to 'your accounts' and then:
- Either click on the 'Move money' tab at the top of the page, select 'Change your regular payments' and then follow the instructions.
- Or, on the 'Your money' page, select 'view' next to your Egg credit card (Egg Card or Egg Money) balance - this will take you to the recent transactions page. Select 'Your Direct Debit' from the menu on the left of the page and then select the option to 'Change your monthly Direct Debit amount'.

There are several different ways to make an additional payment to your Egg credit card (Egg Card or Egg Money).
Debit card
You can only make an additional payment by debit card if the debit card is held in your name. Just follow the steps below:
- Log in to 'your accounts'.
- Select the 'Move money' tab.
- You'll then need to select the option to 'Make a one-off payment' and follow the simple on-screen instructions.
- If the account you want to pay from isn't already saved in your address book, select 'add' and save the account details there.
Debit card payments will be credited to your account for interest calculation purposes with effect from the date that we receive the payment, which will be up to two business days after your payment request.
BACS
You need to arrange this type of payment with your external bank. The payment needs to be made using the following details: sort code 40-02-50, account number 01071181 and your 16-digit Egg credit card number (this is used as a reference). BACS payments take three to four business days to reach us. The payment will be credited to your account for interest calculation purposes from the business day on which it is received.
Transfer from an Egg Savings Account
You can do this by selecting the 'Move money' tab and then the 'Make a one-off payment' option and follow the simple on-screen instructions.
A transfer from an Egg Savings Account will be credited to your card account for interest calculation purposes with effect from the date the transfer is made.
Cheque
You should make your cheque payable to 'Egg, (Account Holder Name(s)), (Account Number)'. eg Egg, Mr Smith, 1234567890123456 (draw a line through any unused space on the payee line so that no-one can add extra numbers or words).
Send your cheque to Egg Monetary Team, Egg, Riverside Road, Pride Park, Derby DE99 3GG.
Your payment will be applied to your account when the cheque clears. As we are not a clearing bank, cheques paid into your account can take 7 to 10 business days to clear. The central clearing cycle only applies to cheques paid into most clearing bank accounts (where clearance normally takes three business days). During this period you will not be able to spend against the value of the cheque.
There is a charge of £2 for using this payment method.
If you make an additional payment that's at least equal to your statement balance, and you make that additional payment in the period between your statement date and the date five business days before your next payment date, we won't collect your next Direct Debit payment.
If you make an additional payment that's less than the amount your Direct Debit is due to claim and you make that additional payment in the period between your statement date and the date five business days before your next payment date, we will collect your Direct Debit as normal, but less the amount you have already paid.
Any payment you make to your account in the period five business days before your payment date, and up to the date of your next statement, will reduce the balance of your statement, but will not affect your next Direct Debit payment.
